"Anorexia is a disease. Not a fashion statement.
Beauty has nothing to do with the size you wear, it has to do with what's in your heart."
Sophia Bush tweeted about some guy named Kenneth Tong, telling him that he isn't the inspiration he believes he is and that he should be ashamed of himself. This caught my eye so I decided to google him and found his Twitter. End result: RAGE and DISGUST.
I mean just read some of his tweets:
"Kenneth Tong: making self-concious girls even more demanding and critical, reminding them it's not okay to be fat and to be a plus size."
"Sacrifice is giving up something good for something better. Food is good, thin is better. Think about this before your Dinner..."
"Tell me what you ate today and I won't listen as you've eaten too much. To be thinner, skip Dinner."
"Fat people type the dumbest Tweets to me. Venting their frustration for being a reject in life and that big girl everyone pretends to like."
"To not be thin is a sin. I'm singlehandedly brave enough to champion this size zero agenda, which you've all oppressed for far too long."
"Assure you that my words aren't a publicity stunt. I wholeheartedly endorse managed anorexia, as to be fat or even not thin is to fail life."
He stands for being thin (size 0), believes that managed anorexia is OK, and says every girl should be a size 6 or smaller because skinny arms are sexy or whatever. Worst part about it? Girls actually listen to him and are skipping meals/damaging themselves in order to become thin. Not only that, he calls overweight people losers and rejets.
He tries to defend himself by talking about models on the cover of magazines. It's crap! Some girls who model are naturally that thin. Others do take drastic measures to become that thin, which is sad. But those girls aren't ever as thin as they look because of that wonderful thing called Photoshop.
I can't even believe this is a reality right now. What is this world coming to? :-/
All I can say is that if you are reading this right now, know that you ARE beautiful. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise and most certainly DO NOT support such insanity. If you're looking to lose some weight, make sure you're doing it in a healthy manner. Do your research. Talk to a professional. Get a trainer. It'll be more worth it in the long run than any damages done to your body by starving yourself. Believe me, it's not worth it.
