Helping someone makes us all feel great... be it making a donation, giving the right advice, picking up someone's tab if they're in a tough spot, or helping build someone a new home. So why don't we do it more often? Are we really too busy to spare a few hours out of our week for someone else?
I think it's easy to help out these days thanks to the power of the internet and social media. There are plenty of websites with tips on how to help and there are so many charities online who make it easy to give donations.
FabFitFun has a great reference page called Do Good, Feel Good that you should check out if you'd like to find out how you can help the likes of Habitat for Humanity, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and Operation Smile.
I'd like to add the following…
Crowdrise: A website where you can donate to any cause you believe in, you can start your own fundraisers, and you can meet people from all over who are working towards the same goals.
The Art of Elysium: Encourages working actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions. They provide artistic workshops in the following disciplines: acting, art, comedy, fashion, music, radio, songwriting and creative writing.
Global Green: Works to address some of the greatest challenges facing humanity. They have goals focused for both the United States and Internationally. Some of these include fighting global climate change through our green affordable housing initiatives, providing clean & safe drinking water, and education.
Invisible Children: Seeks to end the invisible war that child soldiers battle and bring those children home. They work to rebuild schools, educate future leaders, and provide jobs.
Do you have any charities or projects you'd like to help? Let me know and I will add them to my list!
