5 Tips For Appreciating Your Life While Still Desiring More

I am so happy I decided to open my Google Reader today because I stumbled upon an amazing post over at Owning Pink about appreciating what you already have while desiring more.

This is something I'm constantly struggling with. I know the importance of being grateful for all you have now, as well as the importance of having dreams but often times I find myself feeling guilty for desiring more things, and better things. It's nice to find out that I'm not the only one, and best of all that I'm not wrong for those desires.

Now that I know I'm not alone, I wanted to share these five tips with all of you in case you feel the same way at times.

Express gratitude for what’s awesome in your life every day. Keep a gratitude journal. Tell someone one thing they've done that you're grateful for each day.

Ask yourself these three daily questions suggested by Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen
  • What moved me today?
  • What inspired me today?
  • What touched my heart today?
Live each day without regret. Don’t wait until tomorrow to do what you long to do today.

Give yourself permission to dream big, but only after getting clear on what you appreciate about your life.

Set goals but then release attachment to outcomes.  If it’s not meant to happen, don’t attach all your expectations on achieving a goal that might not be for the highest good. If your big dreams become an excuse not to live fully in the present and feel happy in the moment, they’ll only hold you back.

I hope this helps you out if you've been feeling like me! Xo
