Talking About Christmas

Discovered this fun Q&A on Space for Inspiration. I'd love to learn more about y'all from your answers so I included a Linky in case you wanted to fill this out and link to it. No pressure though - ;)

What does Christmas mean to you?
Christmas means a light and happy spirit in my heart. Though I try to keep positive throughout the year, there is something special about Christmastime and the way it makes me feel. It also means family and traditions. I haven't been able to celebrate with my own family for years now, but I am looking forward to the year that I can and the year we start our own Christmas traditions. Finally, Christmas means giving. I love to give and I love to put a smile on someone's face. It does get me into trouble financially, but in all honesty it's just money and even if I do go (way) over budget, I'll be okay.

It is simply not Christmas without...
Christmas lights! There is something magical about them and I always enjoy driving around different neighborhoods to see how they've decorated. Just thinking about it makes me smile!

Your ideal Christmas?
My ideal Christmas is one where I'm surrounded by my closest friends and family, in one place… which I hope to be a snow covered cabin in North Carolina with a fireplace and big Christmas tree. I want there to be hot drinks, good food, laughter, and good feelings all around.

Favorite Christmas movie?
Home Alone 1 & 2 will always be special to me and they are certainly two of my favorites. I also love National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (cartoon), Four Christmases, and Elf.

Number 1 Christmas song?
I'll Be Home for Christmas is definitely one that I love, but my Number 1? I'd have to go with Jingle Bell Rock or I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas. They're both in Home Alone and they both put me in the Holiday spirit more than any other.

What's on your Christmas table?
Nothing at the moment. We are hosting a small Christmas get together this year so I'm sure there will be plenty of delicious food and some decor. I'll share photos of course!

What would you love Santa to bring this year?
The self-less side of me says donations to the causes I support as well as happiness for all. The materialistic side would really love either an iPad or money to buy myself some new clothes. I've been sporting the same outfits for years now.

Your Christmas message to the world.
Cherish the memories of Christmases spent with your loved ones, they go by very fast and you never know when you may seem them again. Also, enjoy the simple things. Though it is a season of giving, those gifts don't have to be materialistic. Love and joy are so much nicer.
